Our Introductory Tamil course continues with a focus on learning the Tamil script, writing and reading practice, and includes basic introductory grammar, vocabulary and conversation. Offered : in Term 2 and Term 4 every year pending sufficient student enrolment. Our Introductory Tamil course is specifically designed for adults and children over 10 yrs with only basic knowledge of the Tamil script, who are just learning how to read and write, and for those who have taken our Tamil course.
Subsequent Terms reinforce both reading and writing, and focus on grammar, conversation and vocabulary. Adults and teens who already know the Tamil script, have a basic ability to read and write, but who do not know how to speak, may chose to enrol in our Tamil course. Introductory Tamil is next offered in Term 2 on Wednesday evenings from pm during school Terms. Each Term consists of 8 weekly classes. Tamil Term 2 classes begin on Wednesday 11 May and run for eight successive weeks, with the last class of the Term held on Wednesday 29 June Details can be found in the Location tab below.
Note : Those who cannot make the class meeting day and time either in-person or via live Zoom sessions may consider accessing this course through the weekly recorded video sessions.
Class videos are posted within 24 hours of each live class session and are available for your own personal learning session on a day and time of your choosing.
Distance-learning : This course has distance-learning options for those unable to attend the live class sessions in Hamilton.
Students have three options for attending our courses once they have registered:. These options can be mixed and matched throughout the course to suit your own availability and location. The common thread of all these professional experiences — as well as his career aspirations, in general — has been the empowerment of others to achieve their goals. In addition to our in-person classes in Hamilton, our Tamil language programme offers distance learning options for those unable to attend classes in-person.
Live-streamed Hamilton classes are available via free Zoom software for those living outside the Waikato. Live-streaming allows you to participate fully in your own learning, ask questions of the instructor and participate fully in the same way as if you were in the physical classroom. Those unable to attend the scheduled date and time of the actual class sessions, or those who need to miss a class or two due to previous engagements or unexpected illness, can watch any or all of the live-recorded video sessions on their computers, laptops, tablets or mobile devices and study at their own pace and in their own time.
Detailed instructions on how to access our distance learning components will be sent after completing your registration. There are no additional fees for this service. However, distance learners will need access to a desktop or laptop computer with a good quality web-camera tablet devices and mobile phones can also access our live-streamed classes , a built-in microphone most modern laptops have built-in microphones or a headset with a microphone.

I thought it was my computer but I changed computer and had the same issue. These technical need to be dealt with I would've been a 5 star review but lately Bluetooth devices only work if I connect them before joining the meeting. Even when I do that there are a number of bugs that can cause the meeting to stop playing through the Bluetooth device.
This is very frustrating. It is not always practical to leave and rejoin a meeting, just to get the app to cooperate with my Bluetooth audio devices.
